I have been a musician from a very early age, and have been working as a producer and engineer for various styles of music for more than a decade. I studied Sound Recording Technology at DePaul University, where I also studied music theory and history, so I have a unique understanding of all styles of music from a performer´s and an engineer´s perspective.       I work in St. Louis and Chicago as an independent engineer and producer, partnering with various studios and musicians to get the job done. I work primarily from a home studio, which allows me to accomplish the majority of clerical and technical tasks on an album at a very low cost, and save your money for the studio when it matters.       You can contact me at 314-808-4846, or email me at "adamsound AT gmail DOT com"       The songs below are samples of my work. These are the full tracks in all cases, PLEASE visit the musician's web sites for more information or to buy music. Clicking on a file name will download and/or play the file. By clicking to listen, you agree that you will use the file as a demonstration of my services only, will delete the file after listening, and will not distribute the file without permission of the songwriter. Songs from the new Birdie Calvert EP - here's her MySpace I produced this record and did all the engineering. Missie's writing is wonderful, I just pepped up the structure and got everything sounding good. Also that's me on the keys! The Unhappy - the dark rocker of the EP. I added a whole bridge here and assembled all the guitar takes from Tony Esterly to create a slow build into the final release. Going Nowhere Slow - one of the slower tracks, again showing off Missie's great writing. This one started out as a solo guitar piece, so the arrangement and instrumental melody are my additions here. Songs from Accidentally and Unexpectedly, an album by Ollie Davidson. I produced this record and did all the engineering. Most of the arrangement I did, including writing parts for horns, strings, keys, and more. Ollie is a great songwriter, and these songs show what good songwriting and creative production can do! Accidentally and Unexpectedly - the title track. I played piano and accordian, and worked out the violin arrangement with superstar violin player Ruby Harris. Seem To Lie - the most uptempo song of the bunch, once again featuring Ruby Harris. I played keys and arranged the brass parts, and again worked with Ollie and Ruby to nail down the best violin part. When I Was Small - our big orchestral number. I wrote all the orchestra parts, and even played piano and French horn on this one. Songs by The Amoreys. This is a great rock band with a serious blues streak from Chicago. I had the pleasure of working with them recording and mixing their latest effort, Packged Goods. These recordings were very natural - the whole band played together, and we only overdubbed some background vocals - and you can hear that in the mixes. Charlene - a beautiful ballad showcasing the wonderful guitar playing of Mr. Bob Goins. Hey Willy - Up tempo, showing off that great harmonica playing this time. Songs by Three Legged Dog. These kids from the St. Louis area can really turn them out. These two songs are from a wild frenzy of a recording session in Chicago, record, overdub and mix 5 songs in 3 days! Mostly engineering on these, the only producing involved getting the performances as good as they could be. Love Sick Puppy - a real rocker. We had fun with the vocal running through an amp and other toys, otherwise this is a straightforward recording. Not There - Mostly a slow burn, it does break open towards the end. Most of ideas for the unique sounds came from the band, I just made sure they happened just right. What´s the Use - from a demo I did with a wonderful songwriter named Jesse Tewson. |
